Jon Sendach Named Among Top 40 LI Business Leaders under Age 40

Long Island Business News recently recognized Jon Sendach, associate executive director for finance at Glen Cove Hospital, and a 15-year veteran of the Roslyn Rescue Fire Company, as one of the top young business leaders on Long Island at its 10th annual “40 under 40 Awards” breakfast.

Congratulating Jon Sendach, associate executive director for finance at Glen Cove Hospital, on his award from Long Island Business News as one of Long Island’s top young business leaders is Kathleen Gallo, PhD, chief learning officer of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, and Dennis Connors, executive director of Glen Cove Hospital.

The 40 under 40 awards, presented on January 24 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, recognizes 40 men and women each year who have achieved professional success in business before the age of 40 and demonstrated strong community involvement.

Mr. Sendach joined Glen Cove Hospital, part of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, in 2004 and is responsible for the financial management of the 265-bed community hospital. He manages day-to-day financial operations and oversees patient financial services and health information management. Mr. Sendach is also responsible for the oversight of the hospital’s faculty practice, comprised of 30 physicians covering a range of specialties.

“We are very proud of Jon’s achievements,” said Dennis Connors, executive director of Glen Cove Hospital, who was among 600 guests at the awards breakfast. “In addition to the passion and dedication to excellence that Jon brings to work every day, he is an outstanding community member, providing emergency care to our friends and neighbors through his involvement with the Roslyn Rescue Fire Company.”

Prior to joining Glen Cove Hospital, Mr. Sendach graduated from the inaugural class of North Shore-LIJ’s one-year Administrative Fellowship Program. From 2001 to 2003, he served as an emergency medical technician and communications center tour commander at the health system’s Center for Emergency Medical Services in Syosset.

Since 1993, Mr. Sendach has served as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician at the Roslyn Rescue Fire Company, and has twice held the rank of EMS captain. He graduated from the New York University Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service with a master of public administration in 2004, and has a BA from Colgate University.
