Chemotherapy - Nausea Treatment Study

URCC U1902:  A Phase II/III Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Double-Blind Clinical Trial of Ginger (Zingiber Officinale) for Nausea Caused by Chemotherapy for Cancer

Protocol ID

03-108T

Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to determine if ginger capsules (small capsules made of easily digestible soft gelatin, each containing 250 mg of ginger), given in addition to the current best medication, such as Zofran, Kytril, Anzemet and Decadron, to manage nausea caused by chemotherapy, can provide even better control of that nausea. We also want to see what dose of ginger works best and we want to measure quality of life of subjects on this study.

Eligibility Criteria
