Pitch Recognition in Autistic Spectrum Disorders

Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to investigate musical pitch (sound) perception in people with autistic spectrum disorders and their family members. The investigator will focus on the ability of the subject to learn to identify musical tones or sounds and tell the difference between certain kinds of tones or sounds.

Participation is based on an interest in helping further research into autism and autistic spectrum disorders. No prior musical training is required in order to participate in this research study.

Eligibility Criteria

People with autistic spectrum disorders and their family members
