Podcast: Andrew Adesman, MD, Discusses Child Development and the Involvement of Play Toys

Andrew Adesman, MD, chief of developmental and behavioral pediatrics at Schneider Children's Hospital, talks to Dr. Roshini Rajapaksa, host of the Sirius Satellite Radio show "Doctor Radio," about child development and the the involvement of play toys. In this 30-minute segment, Dr. Adesman discuses various "red flags" associated with behavioral problems in children, as well as cognitive and motor skills that are considered milestones for children, related to play toys. Also discussed are the low/no cost alternatives to toys that can be made at home, as well as special "abled toys" for children. Dr. Adesman also explains signs to look for with respect to ADHD and autism in children, when it comes to play and socialization with other children.
