North Shore University Hospital Honors Its Volunteers

April 25, 2007
In honor of National Volunteer Recognition Week, North Shore University Hospital recently held a luncheon at the Swan Club in Roslyn Harbor to recognize the dedication and commitment of its volunteers. The 100 volunteers receiving awards had accumulated almost 200,000 hours of service to the patients and the community.

“Our volunteers are an integral part of the fabric of the hospital and we simply could not do the wonderful things we do without their continued dedication and commitment,” said Kevin McGeachy, the hospital’s associate executive director.

In addition, the event served as the installation of new members of the North Shore University Hospital Auxiliary Executive Committee. Vicki Silverman of Manhasset will serve as the President of the Auxiliary for 2007/2009.

New volunteers are always welcome at the hospital. Please contact the hospital’s Volunteer Services Department at (516) 562-4947 to see how you, for as little as four hours a week, can make a difference.
