Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to compare two different methods of treatment for patients with diabetes mellitus who also have coronary artery disease in more than one heart vessel. The two treatments are coronary artery bypoass graft surgery (CABG) and drug-eluting stents. Specifically, this study is designed to evaluate whether drug-eluting stenting is more or less effective than CABG.

Eligibility Criteria

Patients with diabetes who require a procedure to restore proper blood flow to the heart
