Protocol Description

This study is designed to explore the effect of Qi Gong meditation on illicit drug use and symptoms of depression and anxiety of patients on methadone maintenance treatment (MMT).

Qi Gong meditation is a Chinese discipline involving a series of physical postures, breathing techniques, mind-body techniques and exercises to focus intention. Qi Gong delivers a complete workout for the mind, body and spirit, which according to Chinese medical thought, helps prevent and alleviate a variety of ailments.

Eligibility Criteria

Patients on methadone maintenance treatment (MMT)
