A Two-Phase Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial of Buprenorphine/Naloxone Treatment Plus Individual Drug Counseling for Opiod Analgesic Depression
Protocol ID
Protocol Description
The purpose of this study is to identify an effective treatment program for patients dependent on prescription opioids. By prescription opioids we mean medications including but not limited to Percocet, OxyContin, Vicodin, and Morphine. In this two-phase study, all subjects will receive the medication buprenorphine/naloxone (BUP/NX) also known commercially as Suboxone. Both phases will look at the effect of treatment with BUPNX plus either standard medical management (SMM) or enhanced medical management (EMM).
