Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Study

Trial of Early Aggressive Therapy in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (Treat JIA Study)

Protocol ID

07.10.012T

Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to learn which medication or combination of medications are best to treat extended oligoarthritis or polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and to determine when medications should be started. We hope that starting stronger and faster (aggressive) therapy soon after the start of symptoms (onset) of poly/ extended oligo JIA will be more effective than current standard treatment. We also hope that children on this new treatment will have completely inactive disease by 6 months, and clinical remission (no symptoms of disease) by 12 months after starting therapy.

Eligibility Criteria

Children with extended oligoarthritis or polyarticular juvenile diopathic arthritis (JIA).
