B-Cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Study

A Phase 3, Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel-Group Study of the Efficacy and Safety of Lenalidomide (Revlimid®) as Maintenance Therapy for Patients with B-Cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Following Second-Line Therapy (The Continnum Trial)

Protocol ID

Protocol Description

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is cancer of the white blood cells. CLL causes a slow increase in the number of white blood cells called b cells in the bone marrow. The cancerous cells spread from the blood marrow to the blood, and can also affec the lymph nodes and other organs. CLL causes the bone marrow to fail and weakens the immune system.

This study has been disigned for CLL patients who have responded well to their last treatment regimen. The purpose of this study is to determine if an experimental drug called lenalidomide is safe and effective as a maintenance regimen to further improve the qualityof the response achieved with a patient's last regimen and at lengthening the time of a patient's response to treatment.
