Human Blood Cell Disorders Tissue Bank

Protocol ID

08-202

Protocol Description

This tissue bank will collect blood and/or other body fluids such as saliva and tissues such as bone marrow, lymph node, spleen, etc, to permit the doctors of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System to study abnormal cells involved in blood cell disorders as well as other normal blood cells contained in the samples. These studies will hopefully lead to an understanding of the causes of blood cell cancers and related blood cell diseases, as well as the tendency to develop infections and the inability of the immune system to fight off these infections.
