Protocol ID
08-308
Protocol Description
Interferon has been shown to have some anti-tumor activity in advanced melanoma, and it has also been found to help prevent recurrence of melanoma in patients with advanced stages of melanoma. Interferon α-2b is normally produced by the body's immune system. This substance is now produced in large quantities in laboratories, making it available for treating patients with cancer. The purpose of this study is to compare the benefits of treatment with Interferon to no treatment after surgery to remove malignant melanoma.
