CALGB 20202: Assessment of Novel Molecular Markers in Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Protocol ID

08-310

Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to examine the particular features of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells and certain chromosomes, genes and proteins within these cells. Patients diagnosed with AML will be asked to submit a small portion of their blood, bone marrow aspirate, and bone marrow biopsy sections for these research purposes and to preserve and store the remainder for future research. Additionally, researchers will obtain buccal cell samples. This information will be used to develop improved methods for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with AML.
