Protocol Description

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe. Aclidinium bromide is an experimental drug that is being studied for the treatment of COPD. The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety of aclidinium bromide to placebo (which contains no active drug). Aclidinium bromide will be tested at two different doses in people with moderate to severe COPD. The study drug (aclidinium bromide or placebo) will be given as a dry powder taken through an inhaler.
