Prostate Cancer Study

A Phase III Prospective Randomized Trial of Dose-Escalated Radiotherapy With or Without Short-Term Androgen Deprivation Therapy for Patients with Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer

Protocol ID

09-293

Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of dose-escalated radiation therapy with or without hormone therapy on prostate cancer. Prior studies have suggested possible advantages to the administration of hormonal therapy with radiation. However, those studies were performed with radiation techniques that do not match those commonly used in clinical practice today. Therefore, we will be testing to see if similar benefits for hormonal therapy are seen when used with current radiation therapy techniques.
