The Effect of Montelukast on Asthma Control in Obese Asthmatic Children and Adolescents

Protocol Description

The purpose of this study is to determine if a standard drug for asthma therapy, montelukast (Singulair) works better in obese versus non-obese asthmatics. We would also like to determine if montelukast affects certain protein levels in the blood and urine to a greater extent in obese as opposed to non-obese asthmatics.

Eligibility Criteria

Obese asthmatic children and adolescents
