Born Christmas Eve in 1907, Estelle Sanzone marks her centennial Yuletide Birthday, as a resident of the Orzac Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation, a member of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, in Valley Stream. Estelle, who was born at ten minutes before Christmas Day back in 1907, is pictured with Recreation Aide Laraine Memola (left). She received birthday presents, a cake and reminisced about Christmases long, long ago with her friends. “My mother always taught us, treat others as you would have them treat you, because friendship is very, very important in this world,” Estelle said. Words she has lived by for 100 years.
