About Us
Franklin Hospital has undergone major changes since its inception as a small community hospital in 1963. Today it is a member of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System and a 305-bed community hospital offering a comprehensive array of programs and services to patients from Nassau and Southeastern Queens Counties.
The hospital is home to a state-of-the-art 120-bed facility known as the Orzac Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation. This facility houses the hospital's long-term care and rehabilitative medicine department and the medically oriented Adult Day Health Care Program.
Franklin also has one of the most advanced emergency departments in the region and a 21-bed short-term psychiatric unit.
