Alan Schwalberg
Director of Operations,
Center for Emergency Medical Services (CEMS)
Mr. Schwalberg supervises operations at CEMS, one of the largest hospital-based emergency services operations in the East, with more than 60 EMS vehicles and approximately 300 paramedics and emergency medical personnel. He is responsible for ambulance operations, budget, strategic planning and business development.
Mr. Schwalberg began his career with North Shore-LIJ in 1996 as an emergency medical technician-paramedic/dispatcher. He later served as communications coordinator, then operations supervisor in the communications and support division; and operations manager, overseeing support operations and the New York City 911 Division.
Prior to joining the health system, Mr. Schwalberg was employed by Sperry/Unisys Corporation in plant protection services. Before that, he was a dispatcher for the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department.
Mr. Schwalberg is on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Emergency Medical Dispatchers Association and the Roslyn Rescue Fire Department.
