Becoming a Patient

When pain is not severe or long lasting, it can be treated by primary care physicians. But when pain is severe and does not respond to conservative pain treatment; when the need for narcotics keeps growing; when surgery cannot relieve pain; and when patients do not need emergency surgery for sensory or motor loss or bowel and bladder dysfunction, then a pain specialist may be able to help.

Most chronic and acute pain patients are referred to the Pain Management Center by their doctors. So the first step is to discuss your pain problems with your primary care physician. Then, call the Pain Management Center at (631) 968-3060 to discuss becoming a patient. The office staff will work closely with you to make certain you receive your insurance benefits.
