Southside is affiliated with other oncology programs within the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, the largest provider of cancer care on Long Island. It is a participating hospital in North Shore-LIJ's Don Monti Cancer Treatment and Referral Service, which offers patients additional, new treatment closer to home.

North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System Cancer Services

As a member of North Shore-LIJ, Southside is part of the biggest and most sophisticated cancer network on Long Island. That gives Southside's oncology patients the opportunity to participate in clinical trials. Cancer professionals easily can consult with their colleagues within the health system and take advantage of North Shore-LIJ's program of continuing education in the newest developments in cancer care and research.

  • Clinical trials: Several North Shore-LIJ hospitals are members of National Cancer Institute clinical trial groups. Southside Hospital patients may be eligible to participate in clinical trials based in these hospitals.
  • Continuing professional education: Southside hosts multi-disciplinary cancer conferences throughout the year, presenting cases for a full analysis of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation techniques.
