The Monter Cancer Center Cancer Information Service, (516) 734-8990, is available to cancer patients, their family, friends, health professionals and the general public in our surrounding community from 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. week-days. Cancer Information Service Hotline Specialists answer questions on cancer from prevention, screening, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
The specialists can answer questions on the latest state-of-the-art clinical trials available at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System for any particular cancer. In addition, the Cancer Information Service can provide printouts of disease specific information and treatment options available to a cancer patient.
The Cancer Information Service is a resource for physician and support group referrals in the Long Island area. Whenever necessary, callers are directed to an appropriate health professional to discuss and clarify their questions, including certified oncology nurses and physicians.
