Financial Resources for Cancer Patients and Their Families
- Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Act. Medicaid coverage for women who have been screened for and diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer, including precancerous conditions, through the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program.
- CancerCare offers free support, information and financial assistance to people with cancer. Financial assistance is given in the form of limited grants for certain treatment expenses.
- Colorectal CareLine offers financial aid through the Financial Aid Fund.
- GovBenefits.gov provides access to government assistance programs.
- Medicaid. A jointly funded, Federal-State health insurance program for people who need financial assistance for medical expenses.
- Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF) provides education, legal counseling and referrals to cancer patients and survivors including insurance, job discrimination and debt crisis matters.
- Ronald McDonald Houses provide a lodging for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
- Veterans Administration cancer program veterans with easy access to cancer prevention, detection and treatment services.
