The American College of Surgeons Commission of Cancer has granted approval awards to all North Shore-LIJ Health System Hospitals.  The approval evaluation is voluntary and conducted through an on-site survey process by experienced healthcare professionals who gather extensive performance information. 

By undertaking this evaluation, facilities demonstrate their commitment to quality care, ongoing improvement and public accountability for the care and services that they provide.
