Cardiac Patient Education and Wellness Programs

North Shore University Hospital's Cardiac Patient Education and Wellness Programs are focal points of our cardiac services program for our patients and our community. We offer patient and family education and community health promotion and education, as well as staff education.

Patient and family education includes written educational materials and brochures, educational bins in each of the patient care areas, classes on a variety of topics, monthly Heart Club meetings and many special workshops such as guided imagery, nutrition and complementary modalities.

Community health promotion and education efforts are in collaboration with the Department of Professional and Public Education and include: health heart screenings each February, community screenings in collaboration with the American Heart Association and the Heart Healthy School Program for school children in grades K-8.
