Claudine Cangiano
Working closely with my preceptor, I gained experience in both the day-to-day operations of a community hospital, as well as in the strategic planning process so integral to the future success of the organization.
A breadth of experience is available to fellows, and rotations are individually tailored to address career interests and goals. I participated in projects at both the site hospital and system level, including writing a health service delivery grant, organizing quarterly meetings with voluntary EMS agencies, identifying performance metrics to monitor efficiency and productivity of ancillary departments and developing a strategic plan for customer relations.
Furthermore, I had access to the senior leadership of the health system during monthly breakfasts and dinners and participated in continued learning by attending courses at the health system's Center for Learning and Innovation. Organized social and networking events provided to be an invaluable, well-rounded experience. This is a first-rate program dedicated to the career development of tomorrow's healthcare leaders.
