| Clozapine is an antipsychotic medication which has been shown to be effective for many patients who do not respond to or cannot tolerate standard medications. The Zucker Hillside Hospital is a recognized center for treatment with Clozapine, having provided leadership in the clinical studies which convinced the FDA to approve this drug as an effective and safe treatment when administered with the necessary monitoring of labwork. All patients between the ages 18 and 62 are eligible for treatment. Diagnoses treated include: Patients with Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders not responsive to other medications and Treatment refractory Bipolar Disorder, Tardive Dyskinesia and Tardive Dystonia. |
