When you come to North Shore University Hospital to deliver your baby, please go directly to the Admitting Office located at hospital entrance #3. The Admitting Office is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please check in at the Admission Desk before proceeding to the Labor and Delivery Unit.

Bring only what you need for your labor and delivery. Your belongings should be left at home or locked in your car until after delivery. Clothes to wear home can be brought to you the night prior to your discharge.

Upon arrival the person accompanying you will be allowed to leave the car and assist you to Admitting. The driver will then be asked to move the car to the parking garage. Valet parking is available until 8 pm.

There is a waiting room located at the front door of the labor and delivery room, adjacent to the maternity unit. Food and beverage vending machines, rest rooms and television are all available.
