Community Services
First Responders: Southside Hospital and the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System have created a paramedic program that provides assistance to local emergency medical services in communities close to Southside. There are seven certified paramedics on duty 12 hours a day Monday through Friday, to give extra manpower to volunteer ambulance corps during the hours when most members are at work.
Safety Speakers: The Emergency Department is available for safety education programs on elderly care, toddler care, injury prevention, fire safety, winter safety, summer safety and more. We will be happy to send a speaker to school, community and religious organizations. For more information, please call (631) 968-4285.
