Continuing Staff Education

North Shore University Hospital's Cardiac Services team remains at the forefront of the ever-changing world of cardiac care with its perpetual emphasis on Continuing Staff Education.  The provision of a broad scope of services requires advanced training and credentialing of the physician, nursing, technical and support staff. The cardiac services program encourages and provides for such training through inservice updates on new treatments and modalities, support for outside training and conferences, and participation in hospital-based educational programs. Specific staff education programs that provide continuing education credits are offered such as Lunch and Learns and an annual Cardiac Update Nurses Conference. To further enhance the educational experiences of our staff, collaborative programs are offered in partnership with the American Heart Association, such as the Increase Your Steps Walking Program. The cardiac services program is regularly involved in the training and education of students from regional nursing, technical and allied health programs.
