Deborah Tascone, RN, MS
Regional Executive Director, Eastern Region
North Shore-LIJ Health System
A regional executive director within the health system for many years, Ms. Tascone now has oversight of North Shore-LIJ’s Eastern Region which includes Franklin Hospital, Huntington Hospital, Plainview Hospital, Southside Hospital and Syosset Hospital. Her responsibilities include coordinating activities within the region to focus on building physician partnerships and looking for new opportunities for growth and investment.
Ms. Tascone was the first registered nurse and first woman to be appointed as a hospital executive director in the health system when she was named executive director of Syosset Hospital in February 1997. The following year, she was appointed executive director of Plainview Hospital as well.
She joined the health system in 1995, serving as nurse director for Syosset Hospital. Prior to that, she was employed in various health-related positions. Her clinical background has been extremely beneficial in the development of new programs and services throughout the hospitals for which she is responsible.
Ms. Tascone is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and past president
of the board of directors of Project REAL (Residential Experience in Adult Living).
She graduated from the Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing, Bronx, NY, and received
her Master of Science degree in healthcare administration from The New School for
Social Research.
