Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery
Now working closely with other members of the health system’s Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Brian Fallon, MD, performs cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures at Southside Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Fallon’s expertise includes the full spectrum of thoracic surgical diseases.
In 2006, Southside became the first community hospital in Suffolk County to be given permission by the New York State Department of Health to perform elective, as well as emergency, angioplasty. Every surgical service at Southside has access to all the support provided by the hospital, such as inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, financial assistance and interpreters. Patients at Southside also have full access to the vast resources provided by the North Shore-LIJ Health System, the third largest non-profit, secular health system in the United States.
