In case of potential biological or chemical emergencies, patients brought to Southside can be decontaminated in a specialized tent set up adjacent to the Emergency Department. The tent is equipped with heat and hot water, so patients can be decontaminated before entering the hospital. Southside staff has undergone special training to care for contaminated patients.
