Division of Kidney Diseases and Hypertension
Welcome to the Division of Kidney Diseases and Hypertension at North Shore-LIJ Health Systems, affiliated with Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. The field of nephrology is a diverse one which covers topics ranging from hypertension, electrolytes to renal replacement therapy. Our division offers excellent clinical care in chronic kidney diseases, glomerulonephritis, kidney stones, electrolyte disorders, hypertension, transplantation, ICU and geriatric nephrology. We offer a two-year clinical fellowship for interested applicants with world-class training in those areas. An optional third year is available for pursuing basic research.
Message from the Division Chief
Welcome to the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ‘s combined Division of Kidney Diseases and Hypertension. The division is at the forefront of nephrology research, education, and clinical care. The clear strength of the division is an outstanding faculty. We are acknowledged as a center for teaching excellence. Our faculty consists of excellent teachers and clinicians within nephrology and the Department of Internal Medicine. A broad range of hospital and outpatient clinical teaching is offered at the health system’s teriary hospitals. North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center provide unique training experiences for the nephrology fellows. We have a fully functioning transplant program now at NSLIJ and our clinicians follow many individuals with new, as well as established, kidney transplants. Our goal is to provide a program dedicated to excellent teaching in the context of superb clinical care.
