The combined Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism is engaged in a variety of activities related to Diabetes, thyroid disease including cancer, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, bone and mineral metabolism including osteoporosis and women’s health issues including polycystic ovarian syndrome and menopause.
Our program includes an active in-patient consultation service at both Long Island Jewish and North Shore-Manhasset campuses. Our out-patient Faculty Practice and educational programs are based at a new clinical facility at 2800 Marcus Avenue. There we provide consultation and on-going management of all aspects of Endocrine disorders. Our on-site facilities include state of the art thyroid ultrasonography, ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration of the thyroid and bone densitometry (osteoporosis testing). We maintain an American Diabetes Association accredited Diabetes education program as well as nutritional counseling services.
Our faculty have appointments at either Albert Einstein College of medicine or New York University Medical School and are recognized leaders in clinical endocrinology.
