The Division of Gastroenterology provides esophageal care that includes:
- Treatment of hiatal hernia
- Medical and surgical treatment of erosive acid reflux (GERD)
- Medical, endoscopic treatment of non-erosive reflux (NERD)
- Medical and endoscopic esophageal spastic condition (IES)
- Medical treatment, difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia) investigation and Rx infections and allergic diseases (AIDS, Eosinophi)
- Treatment of Barrett's esophagus (precancerous) - surveillance for dysplasia
- Treatment and care for cancer of the esophagus - surgical endoscopic, oncologic Rx, esophageal varices - bleeding veins
