1. What is Estimate Your Personal Expense?
Estimate Your Personal Expense is an online tool that allows patients to obtain an estimate of out-of-pocket responsibility that they will incur for a specific medical procedure. The Personal Expense Estimator provides an estimate for your hospital fees only. Physician fees are not included in this estimate and will be billed separately.

2. What information is available through Estimate Your Personal Expense?
Consumers will find out-of-pocket cost information based on historical patient experiences with a similar procedure and insurance carrier. For example, if a patient with coverage through United Healthcare accesses the site and selects a procedure, the estimated out-of-pocket cost is based on 95% of patient experiences for United Healthcare insured patients. The estimate is not a guarantee of the amount you owe.

6.What is the difference between a hospital fee and physician fee?
Typically, patients will receive separate bills from the hospital and physician. The hospital relates to services provided to you at the hospital facility. Generally services provided by physicians such as procedures and consultations will be billed separately.
