Food and Nutrition at Syosset

  • Service Hours
    Hours of operation of Food and Nutrition Services are 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., seven days per week. The nursing supervisor responds to calls for nutritional services during other hours. Service sites include all patient care areas, cafeteria, conference rooms, hospitality stations as well as various sites in the community (school, senior centers).

  • Diet education and counseling
  • Nutritional assessments and follow-up assessments
  • Monitoring of food/drug interaction education and counseling
  • Meal and nourishment preparation, delivery and service
  • Control of food quality and quantity
  • Maintenance of infection control and safety standards
