General Diagnostic Radiology at Forest Hills

The Department of Radiology performs standard radiographic examinations such as chest x-rays as well as barium examinations (i.e., upper GI series, barium enemas, esophograms, small bowel series) and IVP’s (intravenous pyelograms).

Computed Tomography

The Department of Radiology has a Computed Tomography Suite and a new CT scanner. A variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures are performed in the Computed Tomography Suite. CT scans (i.e., CAT scans) are performed on the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine and extremities. Most diagnostic CT scans are completed in a few minutes once the patients are on the scanner. The suite is also utilized for CT biopsies, CT myelograms and abscess drainages.

Neuroradiology

The Department of Radiology offers a variety of diagnostic neuroradiology procedures including:

  • Computed tomography of the head, neck and spine
  • Myelography
  • Cysternography
  • Carotid and cerebral angiograms
  • CT imaged guided biopsies of the spine

Ultrasonography

The Ultrasonography Division performs a variety of sonograms of the abdomen, male pelvis, thyroid, scrotum, breast and kidneys. Full female pelvic and obstetrical sonography are also performed at all times.
