Otolaryngology at Forest Hills
The Department of Otolaryngology at Forest Hills Hospital provides a complete line of diagnostic modalities: x-rays of the nose/sinus; ultrasound of the sinus; rhinometry; complete audiological and vestibular (balance) testing; endoscopy of the nose, pharynx and larynx; and endoscopic evaluation of swallowing disorders/reflux.
Treatments include: irrigation and aspiration of the sinuses; aspiration of middle ear fluid; nasal/sinus nebulization; ear wax removal; minor surgical procedures in the office; and surgical procedures such as rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and of the sinuses with IV sedation in an office-based operating room done in conjunction with an anesthesiologist. We also offer Botox and laser hair removal.
We provide audiological and balance support with several licensed audiologists available to perform complete hearing and balance evaluations as well as assisting in the acquisition and maintenance of hearing aids.
We employ innovative methods of managing sinus disease and balance issues, such as interlesional ingestion of nasal polyps and intratympanic injection of steroids for the management of Meniere's disease and vertigo. We also routinely use endoscopy for the diagnosis and management of sinus/ear and throat disorders.
