Women's Health Center: OB/GYN at Forest Hills

The Women's Health Center at Forest Hills Hospital is a convenient, comfortable, private, state-of-the-art outpatient facility dedicated to the unique health needs of women of all ages.

It is so important that women have a special center that will cater to their medical needs and at the same time be non-threatening. The Women's Health Center is just such a place. Newly constructed, sparkling clean and conveniently located on the second floor of the hospital, it features its own private entrance, an inviting waiting room and individual examination rooms equipped with the latest technology. Of more importance, the Women's Health Center is staffed by skilled gynecologic physicians and a caring staff.

The physicians associated with the center are experts in diagnosing and treating female medical disorders, as well as in determining the source of the problem in order to prevent recurrence. The entire staff is specially trained to be courteous and discreet and to offer the emotional support that is so important when dealing with a medical area about which some patients may feel uneasy.

The Women's Health Center is an outpatient facility. Almost all procedures, including testing, treatment, and even some surgery, can be done on an outpatient basis. There are, however, some forms of care which require hospitalization. In that event, patients can rest easily knowing that Forest Hills Hospital prides itself on having the same high-quality care for which all the hospitals within the North Shore-LIJ Health System are known.

Among the many health care needs which are skillfully handled by the physicians of the Women's Health Center are:

  • Prenatal care and delivery
  • Complete pelvic examinations
  • Pap smears
  • Birth control
  • Family planning
  • Breast exams
  • Mammograms
  • Menopause management
  • PCAP (Prenatal Care Assistance Program)

Healthy Living Partnership

Forest Hills Hospital participates in the Queens Healthy Living Partnership. In collaboration with the New York State Department of Health and the American Cancer Society, this cancer screening initiative provides free breast and cervical cancer education and testing to women who are uninsured. With regular screening, breast and cervical cancer are preventable, and curable if detected early. Forest Hills Hospital is proud to participate in yet another initiative to improve the health of our community.
