The Department of Gastroenterology, a division of the Department of Medicine at Franklin Hospital, excels in the delivery of patient care in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Prominent physicians provide a rich body of knowledge in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcer disease, esophageal disorders, liver disorders, gastrointestinal cancer and diseases of the pancreas and bile ducts that may require advanced endoscopic techniques. Our physicians are committed to delivering outstanding patient care with compassion and concern for each patient.

Board-certified physicians provide acute care in the emergency room 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our endoscopy suite is complete with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and a highly skilled support staff to provide high-quality, empathetic care. The endoscopy department provides diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for screening all types of gastrointestinal cancer, as well as therapeutic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for biliary disease. We are able to appropriately diagnose and treat many disorders and will continue to enhance the range of comprehensive services already provided.
