Franklin Hospital is a 305-bed community hospital that offers a comprehensive array of programs and services to patients from Nassau and Southeastern Queens Counties. It has one of the most advanced Emergency Departments in the region and a 21-bed short-term psychiatric unit.

The hospital is home to a state-of-the-art 120-bed facility known as the Orzac Center for Extended Care and Rehabilitation. This facility houses the hospital's long-term care and rehabilitative medicine department and the medically oriented Adult Day Health Care Program.
