| This program is for patients with an acute manifestation of a psychiatric illness. Patients attend the program five days a week. The treatment day begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. Treatment includes group and individual psychotherapy, psychopharmacological management and psychiatric rehabilitation-focused occupational therapy. Psychiatric, psychological, case management, nursing and rehabilitation services are provided on-site. Special attention is given to discharge planning and community re-entry. Transportation and lunch are provided without charge. The Geriatric Psychiatry Partial Hospital’s goal is to serve patients in acute psychiatric distress by providing intensive treatment in a structured outpatient setting, in order to prevent the need for psychiatric hospitalization or to reduce the need for a lengthy inpatient stay.
