High-Risk Obstetrics, Ultrasound and Antepartum Testing

The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine offers comprehensive services to pregnant women with complex obstetrical and/or medical complications, which affect both mother and baby. Diabetics and patients with multiple gestations are included in this patient population. Both North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center have been designated Regional Perinatal Centers (RPCs) for high-risk obstetrical and neonatal management and receive patient referrals and consultations from the obstetrical staff at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, as well as from other affiliated hospitals on Long Island and in Queens. Services are provided by perinatologists, specialists in maternal-fetal medicine and diagnostic obstetrical ultrasound, using the latest treatment methods for patients with complicated pregnancies.
