The team at the Division of Infectious Diseases is dedicated to providing the highest standards of healthcare to you, our patients.
The Division of Infectious Diseases provides over 2000 consultations each year for patients with brain, lung, heart, intestinal, blood, skin & soft tissue infections, supporting the numerous medical programs at NSUH. Our expertise in management of operative infections facilitates successful recovery from complex cardiac, orthopedic, abdominal, thoracic, & gynecological surgery. We monitor & control infections in bone marrow transplant & immune-compromised patients undergoing cancer treatment, allowing patients to achieve successful remission from their disease. Additionally, our expertise in the management of systemic insect & animal-borne diseases is vitally important to the Long Island community. The Division also provides leadership for the infection control activities of NSUH, as well as Plainview, Glen Cove, Forest Hills, Syosset hospitals & the Center for Extended Care & Rehabilitation. All policies and procedures for these areas are coordinated through the Division.
