Mr. Thompson is responsible for all legal, risk management and corporate compliance matters for the health system.
Prior to joining North Shore-LIJ in 1999, Mr. Thompson was an attorney with White & Case, LLP, in New York City and Washington, DC. He then served as senior vice president of Nabisco Brands, Inc. before joining The New York Hospital in 1988 as senior vice president and general counsel. After the merger of The New York Hospital and The Presbyterian Hospital, he became senior vice president of the merged New York Presbyterian Hospital and was general counsel of the New York Presbyterian Healthcare Network.
Mr. Thompson is a member of the New York and Washington, DC, bars. He received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard University.
