Kevin Dwyer Named Chief Development Officer at North Shore-LIJ
GREAT NECK, NY — The North Shore-LIJ Health System today announced the promotion of Kevin Dwyer as senior vice president and chief development officer. Mr. Dwyer is responsible for managing all of the day-to-day activities and initiatives of the North Shore-LIJ Foundation -- the fundraising arm of the 14-hospital health system, which generates more than $5 billion in annual revenue. He is heavily involved in major gift and capital initiatives that support the health system administration’s long-range capital plans.
“In his newly expanded role, Kevin Dwyer will provide new insights and vision to the Foundation, and will be instrumental in building a new generation of leadership and philanthropic opportunities from both its external and internal constituencies,” said Ralph Nappi, president of the North Shore-LIJ Health System Foundation. “Building upon the Foundation’s reputation and success over the past decade, Kevin brings a unique business acumen that will help lead it through the next decade in direct alignment and support of North Shore-LIJ’s mission. He brings great energy and passion to this role, and will continue to work closely with Senior Vice President Cecelia Fullam in implementing the foundation’s long-range strategic plan.”
Mr. Dwyer joined North Shore-LIJ in 2005 as the Foundation’s corporate director of development. He previously served 15 years on the board of governors at St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, NY. He spent 25 years in the paper and packaging business with Spiro-Wallach Co., where he ultimately served as president and CEO. After selling Spiro-Wallach Co. in 1999 to Unisource Worldwide Inc., the largest paper and packaging distribution company in North America, Mr. Dwyer served as vice president of sales for the mid-Atlantic market, and created and delivered programs for the company’s national sales management training institute.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Mr. Dwyer has been active in numerous charitable organizations, including St. Ignatius Retreat House, the Boston College National Development Board and Help for the Poor. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College.
Mr. Dwyer and his wife Suzanne reside in Manhasset, NY, and are the parents of four children.
