Anesthesia for Non-Operating Room Procedures at LIJ

"Anesthesia on the Go" is a convenient service provided by the Anesthesia Department here at Long Island Jewish Hospital and Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York, providing sedation for children and adults apart from the operating suite for both inpatient and outpatient procedures. Our team includes board certified attending anesthesiologists and registered nurses who are responsible for sedating and monitoring the recovery of the patient. Advanced bookings for available time slots for some specialties such as radiology, endoscopy and pediatric hematology-oncology that require sedation on a regular basis are scheduled through the requesting department's booking office.

Following-day and same day urgent bookings are scheduled directly through the ambulatory team or floor leader.
