Appointments:
We see patients on an appointment basis and ask that you call in advance so that we may reserve an appropriate amount of time for you. If you cannot keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may offer that appointment to someone else. We sincerely try to stay on schedule. Unfortunately, unforeseen emergencies and problems arise from time to time. We ask for your patience when these delays occur.
Office Hours:
Office hours are Monday to Friday by appointment only and vary with your physician or physician assistant. Office telephones are open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Our procedure booking secretary is Karen Wenzel, and she can be contacted at (516) 562-2064. During hours other than regular telephone hours, on-call coverage is provided by a physician who is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients with emergencies calling after hours will receive instructions by dialing our office telephone number: (516) 562-4281.
Your First Visit:
Please register at the reception desk when you arrive for your appointment. For your first visit to our office, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to register and fill out patient forms. We will also need information about your insurance coverage. Tanya Hall, at (516) 562-2065, is our biller.
Insurance:
Please bring your insurance cards to every appointment. Should any information change between visits, please let us know so we can update your records. The private practice of the Digestive Disease Institute participates in most insurance plans. While we will assist you to the extent possible, it is your responsibility to obtain the necessary referrals from your primary physician.
We’d Like You To Know:
Please have all testing (blood, sonograms, CT scans, etc.) done as quickly as possible after your doctor gives you the prescription. Do not wait until your next visit, since our staff will need to obtain your results before your next appointment. Testing to be done for the purposes of a procedure, such as colonoscopy, endocsopy, liver biopsy, etc., should be done within one month of the scheduled procedure, but no later than one week prior to the date of the procedure.
If you have had a test and have not been contacted by one of the staff, please call or email us and your call will be returned within 24 hours. Please leave your name, phone number, type of testing done and the name and location of the facility where the test was performed. This will enable us to obtain your result in a timely manner.
Parking:
Parking is validated for appointments at North Shore University Hospital. Please bring your parking ticket to our front desk upon registering for your appointment. We do not validate valet parking.
